Job Description:
A Head of Logistics is a senior executive responsible for optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management. They lead strategies to reduce costs, improve delivery efficiency, and scale the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Design and execute long-term logistics strategies aligned with overall corporate goals and growth objectives.
- Operations Oversight: Manage transportation networks, warehouse storage, and inventory flow to ensure on-time, cost-effective product delivery.
- Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts and rates with freight brokers, carriers, and 3PL (Third-Party Logistics) providers.
- Performance Optimization: Establish and track KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to identify bottlenecks, reduce lead times, and streamline order cycles.
- Team Leadership: Recruit, train, and mentor logistics staff, warehouse managers, and supply chain coordinators.
- Compliance & Risk Management: Ensure all shipping and warehousing activities comply with safety standards, international trade laws, and industry regulations.
