Procurement & Supply-chain Specialist - Bangalore
Job Description:
The Role Summary:
We are expanding production capacity through a growing network of contract manufacturing partners. The Procurement & Supply-chain Specialist owns both sides of this — building the network and holding it to standard. You will identify, onboard, and manage contract manufacturers, while keeping inventory, quality, and delivery performance on track every day. This is a field-first role — you will spend more time in plants than at a desk. Core metric: on-time, in-full delivery (OTIF) — tracked across every onboarded manufacturer.
What You Will Do:
Contract Manufacturer Sourcing
- Scout, evaluate, and onboard concrete block and fly ash brick contract manufacturers in and around Bangalore. Build a reliable, scalable partner network from the ground up.
Capacity Audits
- Assess manufacturers on machinery, batch flexibility, throughput, and quality systems. Know what each partner can reliably deliver before we commit volumes.
Performance Monitoring
- Track quality, delivery schedules, and OTIF metrics across all partners. Flag issues early and hold manufacturers accountable through data — not conversations.
Inventory Management
- Maintain optimal stock levels — no shortages, no overstocking. Track consumption patterns at each unit and align availability with project timelines.
Logistics Coordination
- Coordinate outbound transport of blocks to project sites. Ensure every dispatch meets internal quality benchmarks and applicable regulatory standards.
Relationship Management
- Be the primary point of contact for all partners. Build trust, resolve issues fast, and represent on the ground — in the plant, not on calls.
What We're Looking For
- 1–3 years of hands-on experience in vendor development, contract manufacturing, procurement, or sourcing — construction, manufacturing, or FMCG preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
- Comfortable with MS Excel or Google Sheets for inventory tracking and supplier data — ERP exposure is a plus
- Strong negotiation skills; able to manage relationships with factory owners and production managers on their terms
- A proactive problem-solver who raises issues early — not after things break
- Willing to travel extensively across Bangalore and surrounding areas to visit manufacturers regularly
- Kannada is non-negotiable. Hindi and English additionally.
