About the Role

Orbit Global HR Consultants is hiring for a Senior Purchase Engineer on behalf of a leading industrial manufacturing company in Chennai. This is an excellent opportunity for procurement professionals with experience in heavy engineering, fabrication, EOT cranes, material handling equipment, or industrial manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical, electrical, fabrication, and industrial components.
• Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships.
• Source new suppliers and negotiate pricing and commercial terms.
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure timely procurement.
• Coordinate with production, planning, stores, and design teams.
• Track supplier deliveries and resolve procurement issues.
• Optimize procurement costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Monitor inventory and ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Maintain procurement documentation and ERP records.

Required Qualifications

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering.
• 5–6 years of experience in procurement or purchase within manufacturing or heavy engineering industries.
• Experience in EOT Cranes, Hoists, Material Handling Equipment, Fabrication, or Industrial Machinery is preferred.
