Freight Forwarding Executive

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Freight Forwarding Executive to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing end-to-end international and domestic freight movements (Air, Ocean, and Land). The ideal candidate will build strong relationships with carriers, customs brokers, and clients to ensure timely, cost-effective, and fully compliant shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Coordination
Manage daily freight forwarding operations for Import/Export shipments via Ocean, Air, and Road.
Coordinate with shipping lines, airlines, co-loaders, transporters, overseas agents, and customs brokers to ensure seamless cargo movement.
Book cargo space and track shipments from origin to final destination, providing real-time updates to clients and internal teams.
Proactively resolve operational issues, route disruptions, or cargo delays.
Documentation & Compliance
Prepare, verify, and process all required shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (B/L), Air Waybills (AWB), Commercial Invoices, Packing Lists, Certificates of Origin, and Customs Declarations.
Ensure strict adherence to international trade regulations, Incoterms, local customs laws, and safety guidelines.
Customer Service & Account Management
Act as a primary point of contact for clients, handling shipping inquiries, status updates, and booking requests.
Address and resolve customer complaints, cargo damage claims, or billing discrepancies professionally and promptly.
Pricing & Cost Management
Negotiate competitive freight rates and local charges with carriers and service providers.
Prepare accurate rate quotes for existing clients and the internal sales team.
Verify vendor invoices against agreed rates and oversee accurate job costing and client billing.
Qualifications & Skills
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 2–4 years of hands-on experience in freight forwarding, shipping, or logistics operations.
Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of import/export procedures, customs clearance, Incoterms (2020), and shipping documentation.
Software Proficiency: Experience with freight management software (e.g., CargoWise, Magaya, or proprietary ERPs) and MS Office (especially Excel).
Core Competencies: Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
