Job Description – Senior Logistics Manager

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Logistics Manager to manage end-to-end logistics operations, including shipping, transportation, warehouse coordination, dispatch planning, and freight management. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in container logistics, freight negotiations, vendor management, cost optimization, and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end logistics and transportation operations.
• Plan daily container movement, dispatch, and warehouse coordination.
• Negotiate freight rates with transporters and shipping lines.
• Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, warehouses, ports, and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor loading, unloading, customs clearance, and shipment timelines.
• Control freight costs, detention, demurrage, and other logistics expenses.
• Maintain freight MIS reports and logistics documentation.
• Ensure timely vendor payments and transport bookings.
• Handle logistics issues related to delays, shortages, damages, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with transportation, shipping, and safety regulations.
• Lead the logistics team and drive operational efficiency and continuous process improvement.

Qualifications

• Post Graduate in Commerce, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 8–15 years of relevant experience in Logistics, Supply Chain, Shipping, or Transportation.
• Experience in Scrap Trading, Metal, Steel, Bulk Commodity, Shipping, or Manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Strong knowledge of freight management, warehouse operations, transportation planning, and logistics documentation.
• Experience in handling import/export logistics and customs coordination will be an added advantage.
