Product-Minded Head of Engineer

Job Description:

Product - Minded Head of Engineering Location - Mumbai Background Education ● Strong Computer Science / Engineering background preferred ● IIT / BITS / top global universities helpful but not mandatory ● Strong builders from startup ecosystems preferred over purely academic profiles Past Experience ● 6–12+ years of engineering experience ● Experience building and scaling SaaS/web platforms ● Startup or high-ownership environment strongly preferred ● Has led architecture decisions and engineering teams ● Experience with fintech, wealthtech, AI-enabled SaaS, analytics platforms, or workflow software is a major plus ● Experience building products from 0 → 1 preferred over maintaining enterprise systems Skills Technical ● Full-stack architecture expertise ● Strong React / Next.js / TypeScript knowledge ● Backend systems (Node.js / Python / APIs / microservices) ● Database design and optimization ● Cloud infrastructure (AWS/GCP/Azure) ● Authentication, permissions, and security architecture ● System scalability and performance optimization ● AI/LLM infrastructure awareness (RAG, vector DBs, orchestration) preferred Product & Leadership ● Strong product thinking ● Ability to translate business vision into technical systems ● Fast execution mindset ● Pragmatic decision making (avoids overengineering) ● Strong communication with business/product stakeholders Key Responsibilities ● Own overall technical architecture ● Lead engineering team ● Define engineering standards and development workflows ● Drive platform scalability, security, and reliability ● Oversee backend, frontend, AI infrastructure, and integrations ● Ensure fast and high-quality product execution ● Evaluate and implement technology stack decisions ● Support future institutional-grade infrastructure and compliance requirements ● Collaborate closely with leadership
