Purchase Manager – Job Description
We are looking for an experienced technical purchase professional to identify, evaluate and develop reliable casting suppliers and machining facilities for our components in and around Rajkot.
Key Responsibilities
Identify and source suitable casting foundries (grey iron, SG iron, steel, aluminium, as applicable) for our components
Locate and evaluate machining vendors in Rajkot and nearby industrial areas
Visit supplier sites to assess capability, capacity, quality systems and pricing
Study drawings and technical specifications and discuss them with vendors
Negotiate prices, delivery schedules and payment terms
Coordinate sample development, first-article inspection and approval
Follow up on orders to ensure on-time, quality deliveries
Maintain a vendor database and records of quotations, rates and performance
Requirements
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering
7–8 years of experience in a casting company/foundry
Good knowledge of casting processes, defects and machining operations
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
Strong network of foundries and machine shops in Rajkot preferred
