Purchase Officer – Job Description

We are looking for a Purchase Officer to manage day-to-day procurement activities, vendor coordination, purchase orders, and material availability. The candidate should have good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle procurement of raw materials, consumables, tools, spares, and other required items.
• Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate commercial terms with vendors.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs) as per approved requirements.
• Coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
• Monitor purchase orders, pending deliveries, and material shortages.
• Maintain vendor records, quotations, purchase orders, and procurement documentation.
• Coordinate with Stores, Production, Quality, Accounts, and other departments for material requirements.
• Follow up on material quality, quantity, and delivery schedules.
• Support vendor development and maintain good supplier relationships.
• Resolve issues related to delays, shortages, wrong materials, and invoices.
• Maintain MIS/reports related to purchases, vendor performance, and pending orders.
• Ensure procurement is carried out within approved budgets and company policies.
