Position Overview

looking for a qualified and analytically minded Financial Controller to strengthen its Finance team and support entities across the APAC region.

The Financial Controller will support the Finance Manager in management reporting, monthly performance reviews, financial closing, budgeting, forecasting, financial planning and analysis, and business performance monitoring. The position will work extensively with Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Excel, and financial data from multiple entities and systems.

This opportunity is suited to a finance professional who enjoys working with data, translating financial information into business insights, and collaborating with stakeholders across countries and functions. The role offers international exposure within an organization that combines the close working environment of a family-owned company with the reach and complexity of a global manufacturing group.

Key Responsibilities and Authorities

1. Financial Reporting and Month-End Closing

  • Prepare and support monthly management reports for APAC entities, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow reports, and KPI dashboards.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities, including data validation, account reconciliation, accruals, provisions, and variance analysis.
  • Review financial information for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with Group reporting requirements.
  • Consolidate financial and operational data from multiple entities and systems.
  • Prepare clear management presentations for monthly performance reviews and business meetings.
  • Investigate reporting discrepancies and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant finance teams.
  • Support the timely submission of financial reports in accordance with the Group reporting calendar.

2. Financial Planning and Analysis

  • Support the annual budgeting, periodic forecasting, and long-term financial-planning processes.

  • Gather, review, validate, and challenge budget and forecast inputs submitted by business stakeholders.

  • Perform variance analyses covering:

    • Actual versus budget
    • Actual versus forecast
    • Actual versus prior year
    • Month-on-month and year-on-year performance
  • Identify and clearly communicate the commercial and operational drivers behind financial performance.

  • Prepare ad hoc analyses relating to profitability, cost development, pricing, projects, working capital, and business performance.

  • Monitor financial and operational KPIs and help improve performance-tracking processes.

  • Prepare investment appraisals and business cases in cooperation with Plant Managers and other business stakeholders.

  • Support scenario modelling, sensitivity analysis, and management decision-making.

  • Identify financial risks, opportunities, trends, and potential corrective measures.

3. Business Controlling and Decision Support

  • Partner with Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, and other functions to provide proactive financial and analytical support.
  • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable business insights.
  • Monitor product, customer, project, and entity-level profitability where required.
  • Support cost-control, margin-improvement, and operational-efficiency initiatives.
  • Challenge assumptions constructively and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Assist local management in understanding financial results and their underlying operational drivers.
  • Support continuous improvement of management reporting and controlling processes.

4. Power BI Reporting and Data Management

  • Maintain and develop Power BI dashboards and management reports used by Finance and business stakeholders.
  • Build clear and meaningful financial visualizations, KPI reports, and performance dashboards.
  • Ensure the accuracy, quality, completeness, and consistency of data used in reporting models.
  • Reconcile Power BI outputs with ERP and underlying accounting records.
  • Work closely with IT and local teams to resolve data-quality and reporting issues.
  • Support the Finance Manager and other business users in interpreting Power BI data.
  • Convert reporting outputs into actionable recommendations and business insights.
  • Promote reporting standardization and automation across APAC entities.

5. ERP and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Support

  • Use Microsoft Dynamics 365 to extract, validate, analyze, and reconcile financial data.
  • Support improvements within the Finance modules of Dynamics 365, including standardization, simplification, and automation.
  • Act as a key user for finance reporting and controlling-related processes.
  • Help colleagues use Dynamics 365 and associated reporting tools more effectively.
  • Support ERP-related testing, data validation, process documentation, and system-enhancement initiatives.
  • Coordinate with IT, accounting teams, and business users to improve financial-data integrity.
  • Help establish consistent finance processes and reporting practices across APAC entities.

6. Tax, Compliance, and Internal Controls

  • Support compliance with relevant APAC tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Apply working knowledge of India GST, Singapore GST, withholding-tax frameworks, and other applicable local requirements.
  • Support financial-control, audit, statutory-reporting, and compliance activities as required.
  • Help maintain appropriate documentation, reconciliations, and audit trails.
  • Identify control gaps and support the implementation of corrective measures.
  • Promote adherence to Group finance policies, accounting processes, and internal-control standards.

7. Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with local finance teams across APAC, including Accounting, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, site controllers, and headquarters functions.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers, local management, Group Finance, IT, Sales, Operations, and Supply Chain.
  • Prepare financial materials for management meetings, performance reviews, and business-planning discussions.
  • Communicate findings clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
  • Coordinate effectively across time zones, cultures, legal entities, and functional teams.
  • Develop productive working relationships with stakeholders at local, regional, and Group levels.

Decision-Making Authority

Within established Group policies and delegated authority, the Financial Controller will be authorized to:

  • Request financial and operational information required for reporting and analysis.
  • Validate and challenge budget, forecast, and reporting inputs.
  • Investigate financial discrepancies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Recommend improvements to reporting, financial controls, and ERP processes.
  • Escalate significant reporting, compliance, control, or data-quality concerns.
  • Provide financial recommendations to the Finance Manager and business stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional actions necessary to meet reporting deadlines.

Final approval authority will remain subject to MultiWing Group’s delegation-of-authority framework.

Education and Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Minimum four years of post-qualification or relevant experience in financial controlling, FP&A, audit, accounting, or management reporting.
  • Experience working in a multinational and multicultural environment is essential.
  • Experience supporting multiple legal entities, countries, or business units is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is advantageous.
  • Experience with Power BI or another business-intelligence platform is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 or another major ERP platform is advantageous.
  • Exposure to APAC finance, taxation, compliance, and regulatory requirements is preferred.

Technical Skills

  • Sound understanding of profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash-flow statements, and financial KPIs.

  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, management accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:

    • Pivot tables
    • Lookup functions
    • Logical and financial formulas
    • Data reconciliation and validation
    • Power Query and Power Pivot, preferably
  • Ability to work accurately with large and complex datasets.

  • Ability to perform account and data reconciliations and maintain data consistency.

  • Working knowledge of Power BI, including dashboards, data models, and financial visualizations.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable ERP platform.

  • Knowledge of business-case preparation, investment appraisal, and financial modelling.

  • Knowledge of India GST, Singapore GST, withholding tax, and relevant APAC regulatory frameworks.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
