Job Description:
An environmental engineer designs systems and processes to prevent and control pollution, manage waste, and ensure compliance with environmental laws. They analyze environmental data, conduct site assessments, and create solutions for water and air purification or land reclamation.
Key Responsibilities
- Design wastewater treatment, waste disposal, and air pollution control systems.
- Collect and test soil, water, and air samples to detect contaminants.
- Prepare and submit environmental impact reports and permit applications.
- Inspect industrial and municipal facilities to verify regulatory compliance.
- Develop site remediation and hazardous waste management plans.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering or a related engineering field.
- Strong knowledge of chemical, biological, and physical processes.
- Analytical, problem-solving, and technical report-writing skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or relevant certifications (varies by region/employer)
