Job Description:
Production
Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Head
Location: Manufacturing Plant
Purpose of the Role
To schedule, operate, and monitor the production process of aroma chemicals
(fragrance & flavour intermediates) in the plant, ensuring timely production in line with
quality, safety, and output targets.
Key Responsibilities
1. Production Planning & Execution
• Prepare and implement daily/ shift wise production plans
• Monitor batch scheduling, reactor loading/unloading
• Ensure availability of RM/PM as per production orders (coordinate with RM Store)
2. Process Operations
• Oversee unit operations such as reaction, distillation, filtration, and drying
• Ensure adherence to SOPs and Batch Manufacturing Records (BMR)
• Monitor as per BMR process parameters (temperature, pressure, pH, reaction
time).Fill BMR and related documents on line.
3. Quality Coordination
• Coordinate with QC/QA team for in-process sampling and testing
• Support investigation of off-spec batches and rework/disposal process
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of batch records
4. Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
• Ensure PPE compliance, process safety, and safe handling of hazardous
chemicals
• Follow MSDS guidelines
• Coordinate with the Fire/Safety team; report near-misses/incidents
5. Manpower & Shift Management
• Supervise operators/helpers during shift and allocate work
• Support training and skill development
• Prepare shift handover reports
6. Equipment & Maintenance
• Conduct routine checks on reactors, pumps, distillation columns, and other
equipment
• Coordinate with the maintenance team in case of breakdowns
• Ensure adherence to the preventive maintenance schedule
7. Documentation & Reporting
• Maintain daily production reports, yield reports, and batch records
• Record waste/effluent generation data
• Provide production status reports to management
8. Cost & Yield Control
• Control RM consumption, yield, and wastage
• Support process optimization to reduce production costs
Qualification & Experience
• Education: B.Sc/M.Sc (Chemistry) or Diploma(Chemical)
Engineering)
• Experience: 2–8 years in aroma chemical/fine chemical/pharma/specialty
chemical production
• Technical Knowledge: Batch reactor operations, distillation, extraction,
understanding of GMP/ISO standards
Key Skills
• Understanding of process and batch documentation
• Team leadership and shift management
• Problem-solving and decision-making ability
• Awareness of safety and compliance
• Proficiency with MS Excel/ERP software
