The organisation operates the Just Breads™ and Healthies™ brands and has a 35,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility, approximately 60 on-roll employees plus contract manpower, and daily production capacity of around 15 MT.

This is a senior, hands-on HR leadership opportunity reporting directly to the Managing Director / Executive Director. The selected candidate will be the senior-most HR professional at the plant and will be responsible for building professional HR systems, strengthening recruitment, ensuring statutory compliance and managing employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Talent Acquisition & Recruitment

  • Manage end-to-end recruitment for workmen, staff and management positions.
  • Handle hiring across production, sales, QA/QC, stores, maintenance and support functions.
  • Develop cost-effective recruitment channels through job portals, employee referrals, ITIs, polytechnics, walk-ins and recruitment consultants.
  • Manage job descriptions, candidate screening, interviews, selection, offers and onboarding.
  • Build a continuous talent pipeline for current and future requirements.
  • Improve time-to-hire, cost-per-hire and offer-to-joining ratio.

2. HR Compliance & Labour Laws

  • Manage EPF, ESI, Professional Tax, Bonus, Gratuity and Minimum Wages compliance.
  • Ensure Factory Act compliance, statutory registers, returns, inspections and factory licence requirements.
  • Coordinate with Labour Department and Factory Inspectors.
  • Handle statutory inspections, notices and hearings.
  • Maintain audit-ready HR and statutory documentation.
  • Stay updated with applicable Labour Codes and regulatory changes.

3. Contract Labour & Industrial Relations

  • Manage contract manpower and contractor compliance.
  • Verify contractor wage, PF and ESI compliance.
  • Handle employee grievances, disciplinary matters and industrial relations.
  • Maintain positive employee relations on the factory floor.
  • Develop manpower-continuity plans to minimise production disruption.

4. Payroll & HR Operations

  • Own accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage attendance, leave, overtime and shift-related HR operations.
  • Handle the complete employee lifecycle from appointment to exit.
  • Manage confirmation, transfers, increments and full-and-final settlements.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, HR MIS and documentation.

  • Develop KRAs, appraisal processes, training and induction programmes.
  • Drive employee engagement, welfare and safety-culture initiatives.
  • Provide management with regular HR MIS covering headcount, attrition, recruitment and compliance.

6. HR & Administration

  • Lead and develop the HR & Admin team.
  • Work closely with the Assistant Manager – HR.
  • Oversee plant administration including canteen, transport, housekeeping, security and facility support.
