Designation: Deputy General Manager – Finance (DGM Finance)
Department: Finance & Accounts
Location: Bhubaneswar
Reporting To: CFO / Group Finance Head
Experience: 12–18 years
Qualification: CA / CMA preferred; MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification may also be considered

About the Role

looking for an experienced and commercially oriented DGM – Finance to lead and oversee the finance and accounting function. The role will be responsible for financial planning, reporting, controllership, cash-flow management, statutory compliance, audit, budgeting and business finance, while ensuring strong financial governance and internal controls.

The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the financial services / NBFC / lending / retail finance environment, with a proven ability to partner with business leadership and drive financial discipline, profitability and sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Financial Planning & Business Finance
    • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning process.
    • Develop financial models, business plans and scenario analysis to support strategic decisions.
    • Monitor business performance against budgets, forecasts and key financial KPIs.
    • Provide actionable insights to management on revenue, cost, profitability and business performance.
    • Evaluate new business initiatives, investments and expansion plans from a financial perspective.
  1. Financial Reporting & MIS
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and MIS.
  • Present financial performance, variance analysis and management dashboards to senior leadership.
  • Establish and monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators.
  • Ensure adherence to applicable accounting standards, company policies and reporting requirements.

 

  1. Treasury & Cash Flow Management
  • Oversee daily cash-flow planning and working-capital management.
  • Monitor liquidity, fund requirements, banking relationships and deployment of funds.
  • Support effective management of borrowing, interest costs and financing arrangements.
  • Ensure optimum utilisation of available financial resources.
  1. Statutory Compliance & Taxation
  • Ensure compliance with applicable provisions relating to GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act and other statutory requirements.
  • Coordinate with tax advisors, statutory authorities and consultants.
  • Ensure timely completion of statutory filings, assessments and related documentation.
  • Identify and mitigate financial and tax-related risks.
  1. Audit & Internal Controls
  • Lead coordination with statutory, internal, tax and other auditors.
  • Strengthen financial controls, processes and accounting systems.
  • Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Develop and monitor robust internal control mechanisms to minimise financial and operational risks.
  1. Financial Governance & Risk Management
  • Establish strong financial governance across business functions.
  • Identify potential financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Ensure adherence to approved financial policies, delegation of authority and control frameworks.
  • Drive process improvements, automation and standardisation within the finance function.
  1. Business Partnership
  • Act as a strategic finance partner to the business and senior management.
  • Work closely with Operations, Sales, HR, Legal, Risk and other functions on financial matters.
  • Provide commercial insights to improve profitability, productivity and cost efficiency.
  • Support management in evaluating business performance and strategic initiatives.
  1. Team Leadership
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounts team.
  • Establish clear goals, performance metrics and accountability within the team.
  • Build a high-performance finance culture focused on accuracy, compliance and business partnership.
  • Identify capability gaps and facilitate training and development.

Candidate Profile

The preferred candidate should have:

  • 10–15 years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts.
  • Strong experience in financial services, NBFC, lending, fintech, retail finance or a similar environment.
  • Experience in managing a sizeable finance function and leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, taxation, treasury, financial reporting and internal controls.
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, MIS and business finance.
  • Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
  • High level of integrity, ownership and attention to detail.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/accounting systems.

Preferred Experience

Candidates from NBFCs, financial services companies, lending businesses, fintech organisations or large retail/consumer finance businesses would be preferred.

Experience in managing finance operations in a regulated environment and working closely with senior leadership/CFO will be an added advantage.
