Manager / Senior Manager - Supply Chain Management
Job Description:
1 Develop and execute monthly, quarterly and annual supply chain plans aligned with sales forecasts, market demand, production requirements and overall business objectives. Lead and oversee the end-to-end Supply Chain Management function, covering Material Planning, Stores, Warehousing, Logistics, Import–Export, GST/Tax coordination, Inventory Management and related SCM activities across SML/Sumil units.
2 Coordinate with Sales & Marketing, Production, Purchase, Finance, QA/QC and other functional departments to understand customer requirements, seasonal demand, production priorities and business-critical materials. Prepare and monitor Material Requirement Plans production plans and supply schedules, considering demand, inventory levels, production capacity, lead time, material availability and working-capital requirements. Ensure timely availability of raw materials, packing materials, consumables and other critical inputs to avoid production stoppages, customer-service failures and unnecessary production losses.
3 Establish effective inventory planning and control systems to maintain optimum inventory, reduce excess/slow-moving and prevent stock-outs. Provide direction to Stores and Warehousing operations, including material receipt, inspection coordination, storage, identification, preservation, stock control, FIFO/FEFO wherever applicable and reconcilation. Ensure to effective warehouse space utilisation including proper storage practices, safety, housekeeping, material traceability and periodic physical stock verification.
4 " Import & Export activities, including shipment planning, documentation, coordination with CHA/freight forwarders, customs-related requirements, port operations, regulatory compliance and timely clearance of consignments. Ensure proper coordination for GST, e-way bills, e-invoicing, tax-related SCM documentation and other applicable statutory requirements in coordination with Finance/Tax teams. Monitor and ensure accuracy of SCM documentation, material transactions, stock records, logistics records and SAP transactions.Establish SCM performance indicators and regularly monitor OTIF, inventory turnover, stock-out levels, excess inventory, logistics cost, freight cost, warehouse utilisation, material availability and supply-chain efficiency.Ensure SCM activities comply with applicable statutory, regulatory, environmental, safety, GST, customs, transportation and chemical-handling requirements.
Ensure proper documentation and records are maintained for statutory and regulatory audits."
5 "Ensure SCM processes comply with applicable IMS requirements, including Quality, Environment, Health & Safety and documented management systems. Ensure readiness for internal, external, customer and certification audits. Coordinate with QA/QC, EHS and IMS teams for audit requirements. Ensure closure of audit observations within defined timelines. Maintain proper SOPs, work instructions, records and documentation. Promote 5S, process discipline and continuous mprovement across Stores and Warehouses. Identify supply chain risks relating to critical raw materials, suppliers, logistics, inventory, warehouses and external disruptions. Establish early-warning mechanisms for critical shortages and supply disruptions.
Coordinate with Management and relevant departments during supply-chain emergencies."
6 Lead, develop and motivate the SCM team across relevant functions and locations.Define KRAs, KPIs and performance standards for SCM personnel. Conduct periodic performance reviews. Identify training and development needs. Develop second-line leadership and multi-skilled SCM resources. Promote discipline, accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement. Ensure adequate manpower and competency for Stores, Warehouse, Logistics and SCM operations.
