Job Description:

Role Summary

We are seeking a qualified Chartered Accountant to support business finance, controllership and financial reporting activities. The role involves maintaining accurate books of accounts, analysing financial performance, supporting month-end closing, monitoring working capital and inventory, and partnering with cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate should possess strong accounting knowledge, analytical ability, business-partnering skills and hands-on experience with ERP systems and advanced Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting and Financial Control

  • Maintain and review accurate books of accounts.
  • Perform ledger scrutiny and account reconciliations.
  • Ensure appropriate accounting treatment and timely resolution of discrepancies.
  • Support revenue recognition and month-end closing activities.
  • Assist in developing and implementing financial processes and controls.

Financial Analysis and Reporting

  • Conduct detailed variance and trend analysis.
  • Analyse and periodically report the P&L, balance sheet and cash flow.
  • Monitor working-capital performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate financial and operational issues and provide actionable insights.
  • Prepare management reports and presentations for monthly review meetings.

Dealer Claims and Incentive Schemes

  • Support the processing and review of aftermarket dealer claims.
  • Analyse the financial and cost impact of dealer claims.
  • Perform claim-related reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist in developing, analysing and tracking dealer incentive schemes.
  • Coordinate with relevant business teams for validation and closure.

Inventory Monitoring

  • Review slow-moving and non-moving inventory.
  • Analyse inventory ageing and its financial impact.
  • Partner with business teams to develop inventory-liquidation plans.
  • Track corrective actions and report progress to management.

Business Partnering

  • Coordinate with sales, aftermarket, supply chain, operations and other functions.
  • Provide financial inputs for commercial and operational decisions.
  • Challenge assumptions and support data-driven decision-making.
  • Facilitate timely closure of financial and business issues.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal stakeholders.

Process and Systems Improvement

  • Document finance processes and standard operating procedures.
  • Support the implementation of new processes, controls and reporting mechanisms.
  • Identify opportunities for process standardization and automation.
  • Maintain a process-driven and systems-oriented approach.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information in the ERP system.

Required Qualification and Experience

  • Qualified Chartered Accountant.
  • Relevant experience in accounting, controllership, business finance or financial analysis.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements, revenue recognition and month-end closing.
  • Experience in account reconciliations, ledger scrutiny and variance analysis.
  • Exposure to inventory, dealer claims or incentive accounting will be advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle or a comparable ERP system.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in a manufacturing, automotive, engineering or aftermarket business will be preferred.
