Electrical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Electrical Design & Drawing Engineer capable of independently preparing electrical engineering designs, calculations, layouts, drawings, BOQs and BOMs for industrial, infrastructure, Solar EPC and other electrical projects.

The candidate should have strong technical knowledge of LT/HT electrical systems, ELV systems, lighting, lightning protection, earthing, AC/DC systems, solar power plants and electrical distribution systems, along with excellent command of AutoCAD.

The engineer will be responsible for taking projects from tender/design inputs through detailed engineering, drawing preparation, material estimation, client approvals and construction support.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Design & Engineering

• Prepare complete electrical design and detailed engineering drawings & Good for construction drawings for industrial, infrastructure, Solar EPC and electrical projects.
• Develop and review:
• Single Line Diagrams (SLD)
• Electrical power distribution schemes
• HT/LT electrical layouts
• Transformer and DG distribution schemes
• AC and DC distribution systems
• Cable routing and cable tray layouts
• Equipment layouts
• Electrical room layouts
• Panel GA/layout drawings
• Control and power wiring drawings
• Termination/interconnection drawings
• Good for construction drawings
• As built drawings

BOM / BOQ & Material Estimation

The candidate should be capable of preparing detailed Bill of Material (BOM) / Bill of Quantities (BOQ) from drawings and project specifications.

AutoCAD Drawing

Strong command of AutoCAD is mandatory.

Tender & Estimation Support

• Study tender documents, drawings, technical specifications and BOQs.
• Identify missing quantities and technical requirements.
• Prepare preliminary electrical designs for tendering.
• Assist the estimation team in:
• Quantity take-offs
• Material selection
• Technical specifications
• Vendor enquiries
• Technical comparisons
• BOM preparation
• Identify technical deviations and exclusions before submission of offers.

Client / Consultant Coordination

• Coordinate with clients, consultants, architects, civil teams, vendors and project execution teams.
• Prepare drawings for client/consultant approval.
• Incorporate comments received from clients and consultants.
• Maintain proper drawing revision control.
• Attend technical discussions and design coordination meetings whenever required.
• Resolve design-related issues during project execution.

Site & Execution Support

• Provide engineering and drawing support to project execution teams.
• Review site conditions and incorporate actual site requirements into drawings.
• Resolve technical queries raised by site engineers.
• Prepare revised and as-built drawings based on actual execution.
• Site visits may be required for surveys, measurements, coordination and technical discussions.
