Job Purpose
To perform accurate and timely chemical and instrumental analysis of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and process samples to ensure compliance with established quality specifications, customer requirements, and applicable safety standards.
- Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine chemical and instrumental analysis of raw materials, intermediates, finished products, and process samples.
- Perform analysis as per approved Standard Test Procedures (STP), specifications, and analytical methods.
- Handle and operate laboratory instruments such as, HPLC, GC, UV-Visible Spectrophotometer, Karl Fischer, PH Meter, Melting Point Apparatus (MPA), Moisture Analyzer, Titration systems and other routine QC Lab. Equipment.
- Carry out assay, purity, moisture, PH, acidity/alkalinity, melting point, inorganic impurities, and other product-specific tests.
- Perform HPLC/GC analysis, including sample preparation, system suitability, sequence preparation, result interpretation, and basic troubleshooting.
- Analyse in-process samples and communicate results to the production/process team within the required turnaround time.
- Check raw materials against approved specifications before release for production use.
- Test finished products and prepare analytical reports/COA data as per specifications.
- Maintain proper laboratory records, worksheets, analytical reports, logbooks, and instrument records.
- Ensure proper identification, labelling, storage, and disposal of laboratory samples and chemicals.
- Prepare and standardize laboratory reagents, volumetric solutions, buffers, and indicators.
- Perform calibration, verification, and routine maintenance of laboratory instruments as per SOP.
- Participate in method validation, method verification, system suitability, and analytical method transfer activities, wherever applicable.
- Investigate abnormal/OOS/OOT analytical results in coordination with the QC team and concerned departments.
- Follow proper GLP, GMP, laboratory safety, and chemical handling practices.
- Ensure good housekeeping and 5S practices within the QC laboratory.
- Maintain adequate stock of laboratory chemicals, solvents, reagents, and consumables and inform the supervisor about shortages.
- Support internal, customer, and regulatory audits by providing required analytical records and documentation.
- Coordinate with Production, R&D, QA, and other departments regarding analytical requirements and quality-related issues.
- Maintain confidentiality of analytical methods, product specifications, and company information.
- Required Technical Skills
- Good practical knowledge of wet chemical analysis and instrumental analysis.
- Hands-on experience with HPLC and GC is preferred.
- Knowledge of chromatographic principles, sample preparation, standard preparation, and system suitability.
- Knowledge of GLP, GMP, SOPs, and laboratory safety practices.
- Ability to understand specifications, analytical methods, COA, and test reports.
- Basic knowledge of OOS/OOT investigation and root-cause analysis.
- Good documentation and record-keeping skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, particularly MS Excel and MS Word.
- Candidates with practical experience in HPLC, GC, UV, Karl Fischer, and wet chemical analysis will be preferred

- Safety Responsibilities
- Follow all laboratory safety procedures while handling acids, alkalis, solvents, dyes, intermediates, and other hazardous chemicals.
- Use appropriate PPE at all times.
- Follow proper procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of chemical waste.
- Immediately report spills, unsafe conditions, instrument abnormalities, and incidents to the concerned supervisor.
- Maintain awareness of chemical hazards and SDS/MSDS requirements.
