MOTOR WINDING MECHANIC FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

• Diagnosis & Testing: Test incoming motors using multimeters, megohmmeters (meggars), surge testers, and hi-pot testers to locate shorts, grounds, or open circuits. 

• Disassembly: Dismantle stators, rotors, armatures, bearings, and housings, carefully documenting internal winding data and coil configurations.

• Stripping & Prep: Remove old, damaged coils, clean core slots, test laminations, and install fresh sheet/slot insulation. 

• Rewinding: Wind new copper or aluminum wire coils by hand or using specialized winding machines, ensuring proper tension, wire size, and slot alignment.

• Assembly & Quality Control: Reassemble the motor, replace worn mechanical parts (bearings, seals, brushes), and run final load, resistance, and insulation tests.

• Documentation & Safety: Record technical specifications, repair steps, and test results while maintaining a clean, OSHA-compliant workspace. 

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent, paired with a vocational/technical certificate or a formal 3-to-5-year apprenticeship in electro-mechanics.

• Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of AC and DC motor principles, electrical schematics, and EASA repair guidelines.

• Manual Dexterity: Strong hand-eye coordination for precision wire-handling, coil shaping, laning, and soldering.

• Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy components, stand for long shifts, and work in industrial workshop environments
