Job Description:
A Junior Design Engineer assists senior engineering teams in creating, modeling, and testing technical drawings, components, or systems under direct supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Modeling: Create 2D technical drawings and 3D CAD models using software like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or CATIA.
- Support & Calculations: Assist with basic engineering calculations, material selection, and sizing for mechanical, electrical, or civil projects.
- Testing & Evaluation: Run simulations, assist with prototype building, and perform quality or performance inspections.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with senior engineers, procurement, and vendors to review specs and resolve technical issues.
- Documentation: Prepare and update engineering reports, Bill of Materials (BoM), and operation manuals.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or a related engineering field.
- Experience: Typically entry-level (0 to 2 years), often accepting hands-on project or internship experience.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit), basic understanding of industry design codes/standards, and technical writing.
- Soft Skills: Attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, and effective communication to report to senior leads.
