Role Overview
- Position Title: Head of IT / IT Head
- Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO), Managing Director (MD), or Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- Department: Information Technology
- Job Type: Full-Time / Permanent
Core Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Budgeting: Prepare and manage the annual IT budget, hardware refresh cycles, software licensing, and technology roadmaps in alignment with business goals.
- Enterprise Applications & ERP: Own and maintain core business applications, ERP systems, and cross-functional integrations (finance, HR, supply chain, and sales).
- Infrastructure & Operations: Oversee servers, networks, cloud environments, telecommunications, and end-user hardware.
- Cybersecurity & Compliance: Enforce security policies, firewalls, endpoint protection, routine backups, disaster recovery (DR) testing, and statutory audit compliance.
- Vendor & Contract Management: Evaluate, negotiate, and monitor third-party service providers, hardware/software vendors, and Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMCs).
- Team Leadership: Mentor, supervise, and evaluate IT support and administrative personnel to maintain high service level agreements (SLAs)
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or Business Administration.
- Experience: 7+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 3–5 years in a managerial or leadership capacity overseeing non-IT-core enterprises (manufacturing, retail, healthcare, etc.).
- Technical Proficiency: Strong grasp of network architecture, Windows/Linux server administration, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud), and enterprise software/ERPs.
- Certifications (Preferred): ITIL, PMP, CompTIA Security+, or CISSP.
- Competencies: Strong stakeholder communication, crisis management during critical operational windows (e.g., month-end close), and vendor negotiation.
