Job Overview

We are hiring an experienced and customer-focused Project Manager – Telecom Products & Broadband Networking for a leading technology-focused organization in Bangalore. The ideal candidate will manage end-to-end telecom product development, customer coordination, engineering validation, product launches, and mass-production readiness.

This role requires a strong understanding of the Indian telecommunications ecosystem, broadband networking products, and customer-facing technical project management. The selected candidate will act as a key interface between telecom operator customers, internal engineering teams, manufacturing partners, and overseas headquarters.

Candidates with hands-on experience managing projects for major telecom operators, broadband service providers, or telecom equipment manufacturers will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. End-to-End Project Management

• Lead telecom product projects from initial customer requirements and product planning through development, testing, validation, production readiness, and mass production.

• Manage projects involving Customer Premises Equipment (CPE), broadband networking devices, routers, gateways, and Set-Top Boxes (STBs).

• Develop detailed project plans, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), timelines, milestones, resource plans, dependencies, and deliverables.

• Monitor project progress, identify potential delays and risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure timely delivery.

• Track monthly project targets, deliverables, and performance indicators.

2. Project Governance and Reporting

• Establish project objectives, KPIs, OKRs, milestones, and accountability frameworks.

• Define project ownership and decision-making responsibilities using RACI matrices.

• Develop and improve project management processes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and reporting systems.

• Maintain project documentation, risk registers, action trackers, and progress reports.

• Conduct regular project reviews, manage escalations, and drive continuous improvement in project execution.

3. Customer and Stakeholder Management

• Serve as the primary project coordination contact for telecom operator customers and internal stakeholders.

• Understand customer requirements and coordinate technical discussions, project reviews, issue resolution, and delivery commitments.

• Build effective relationships with customer engineering, product management, operations, and procurement teams.

• Coordinate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Procurement, Supply Chain, and Business teams.

• Facilitate communication between Indian customers, overseas headquarters, and international engineering teams in English.

4. Product Development and Manufacturing Coordination

• Coordinate product development activities, engineering changes, testing, customer qualification, and validation.

• Ensure products meet customer specifications, quality standards, and agreed project timelines.

• Work closely with manufacturing partners to achieve production readiness and successful product launches.

• Identify technical and operational bottlenecks and ensure timely resolution of project issues.

• Support smooth transitions from product development to pilot production and mass manufacturing.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Science, Business, or a related discipline. Candidates from other academic backgrounds with relevant industry experience may also apply.

• 5–10 years of experience in project management or program management, preferably in telecommunications, broadband networking, consumer electronics, or technology product development.

• Proven experience managing complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, cross-functional teams, and customer-facing deliverables.

• Good understanding of project planning, WBS, RACI matrices, risk management, milestone tracking, and project reporting.

• Experience using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project, Excel, or similar project management tools.

• Strong customer relationship management, communication, negotiation, escalation management, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.

• Professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate effectively with international customers, overseas headquarters, and engineering teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with telecom equipment vendors, CPE manufacturers, STB manufacturers, broadband networking companies, or telecom technology providers.

• Direct experience managing technical projects for major telecom operators or broadband service providers in India.

• Knowledge of telecom product development lifecycles, customer qualification, engineering testing, validation, and mass-production launches.

• Experience coordinating international project teams and working with overseas R&D and manufacturing organizations.

• PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management certification will be an added advantage.
