Job Description:
- Design and development: Research, design, and develop new machinery, components, and systems.
- Analysis and testing: Evaluate the performance of mechanical components, perform simulations (e.g., thermal, fluid, structural), and conduct tests to ensure functionality and reliability.
- Installation and maintenance: Plan and oversee the installation, operation, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.
- Project management: Manage projects, ensuring they meet deadlines, budgets, and specifications. This includes assessing project requirements and agreeing on budgets with stakeholders.
- Collaboration: Work with other engineering teams (e.g., manufacturing, electrical) and departments (e.g., quality assurance, supply chain) to bring concepts to full production.
- Documentation: Create detailed technical documentation, including technical operation manuals and design documentation.
- Technical skills: Proficiency in using CAD software, performing complex calculations, and understanding principles of physics, math, and materials science.
- Problem-solving: Ability to creatively solve complex engineering problems related to force, motion, and energy.
- Education: Typically requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
- Industry knowledge: Familiarity with the principles of mechanics and thermodynamics, along with a working knowledge of the specific industry they are in.
