Job Description:
An Assistant General Manager (AGM)/Manager of Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) is a senior-level role responsible for the overall management and technical oversight of electrical and instrumentation systems within a plant or industrial facility. Key responsibilities include overseeing the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of E&I equipment, ensuring safety compliance, managing budgets, leading E&I teams, and implementing process improvements. Qualifications typically include a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, extensive experience in plant maintenance and leadership, and strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- System Management:Oversee the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Team Leadership:Lead, mentor, and manage teams of E&I engineers and technicians.
- Project Oversight:Manage project timelines, deliverables, and budgets for E&I-related projects.
- Safety and Compliance:Ensure all E&I activities comply with safety regulations, industry standards, and relevant codes.
- Maintenance Programs:Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to optimize equipment performance and reliability.
- Process Improvement:Analyze maintenance data, use methodologies like Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and drive operational excellence for cost reduction and improved efficiency.
- Budget Management:Monitor and manage the budget for E&I activities and resources.
- Stakeholder Collaboration:Liaise with clients, contractors, vendors, and other departments to resolve issues and ensure smooth operations.
- Reporting and Documentation:Prepare and review technical reports, documentation, and system performance data.
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education:A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Experience:Several years of experience in plant E&I maintenance, with significant leadership experience in a similar industrial environment (e.g., power plants, manufacturing).
- Technical Skills:Strong knowledge of electrical codes, instrumentation systems (sensors, transmitters, controllers), and maintenance software.
- Management Skills:Proven ability in team management, project management, budget management, and leadership.
- Analytical Skills:Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data analysis skills to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Operational Excellence:Familiarity with operational excellence methodologies, Root Cause Analysis, and continuous improvement principles is often desirable.
- Software Proficiency:Proficiency in the MS Office suite, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.
