A Deputy Manager for Raw Materials manages the procurement, inventory, and vendor relationships for a company's raw materials. Key responsibilities include planning and forecasting to maintain optimal stock levels, negotiating with suppliers for favorable terms, processing purchase orders, and coordinating with other departments like production, quality assurance, and accounts. They are also responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and maintaining accurate records in the company's ERP system.Core responsibilities

- Oversee the end-to-end procurement process for raw materials, consumables, and packaging.
- Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable vendors based on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and distributors.

- Monitor and forecast raw material inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess stock.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
- Coordinate with the stores department for receiving and quality checks.

Financial and operational control:
- Process purchase orders in the ERP system and ensure accuracy of details like pricing, quantity, and dates.
- Analyze material cost variances and take corrective actions.
- Track and report on key purchasing KPIs.
