Job Description:
A CNC Machine Operator sets up, runs, and maintains Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines to produce precision parts from materials like metal or plastic, involving reading blueprints, loading materials, programming/adjusting machine settings (feeds, speeds, cuts), performing quality checks with measuring tools, troubleshooting issues, conducting routine maintenance, and documenting production to ensure parts meet strict specifications and safety standards. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Setup & Programming: Study blueprints, load raw materials, set up tools, and input/adjust machine codes (toolpaths, speeds).
  • Operation: Run test runs, monitor machines during production, and make real-time adjustments for accuracy.
  • Quality Control: Inspect finished parts using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify they meet exact tolerances.
  • Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Documentation: Keep detailed logs of production runs, quality checks, and any issues encountered.
  • Safety & Compliance: Adhere to all company safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Collaboration: Work with engineers and programmers to resolve complex problems. 
 
Essential Skills & Qualifications:
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and precision.
  • Understanding of CNC software/hardware.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity. 
 
Typical Duties:
  • Loading/unloading raw stock and finished parts.
  • Setting up tooling and fixtures.
  • Verifying machine calibration.
  • Troubleshooting operational errors.
