MECHANICAL HEAD FOR STEEL INDUSTRY - STRUCTURE / WIRE ROD / & OTHER STEEL PRODUCTS - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Mechanical Engineering to lead and oversee all mechanical engineering activities within our organization. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership, technical expertise, and project management skills to ensure successful design, development, and maintenance of mechanical systems and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Management:

• Lead and manage the mechanical engineering team, including engineers, designers, and technicians.

• Set objectives, delegate tasks, and monitor performance.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Engineering & Technical Oversight:

• Oversee the design, analysis, and development of mechanical systems, machines, tools, and components.

• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.

• Review and approve technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.

Project Management:

• Lead mechanical aspects of engineering projects from concept to completion.

• Manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.

• Coordinate cross-functional teams including electrical, civil, and automation departments.

R&D and Innovation:

• Drive research and development initiatives for new products or process improvements.

• Evaluate emerging technologies and implement them where beneficial.

Maintenance & Operations (for manufacturing/plant roles):

• Provide technical leadership in maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability engineering.

• Improve mechanical system uptime and reduce downtime.

Vendor and Stakeholder Interaction:

• Collaborate with suppliers, contractors, and consultants to ensure quality and timely delivery of components/services.

• Support procurement by evaluating technical specifications and vendor qualifications.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (required)

• Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (preferred)

Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership role.

• Proven experience in [e.g., product design, manufacturing, HVAC, plant maintenance – customize as needed].

Skills:

• Strong leadership and team management capabilities.

• Excellent knowledge of CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA).

• Proficiency in engineering analysis tools (e.g., FEA, CFD).

• Strong understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and mechanical design principles.

• Knowledge of relevant standards (ASME, ISO, API, etc.)

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
