Job Description:

Responsibilities:

1. Lead technical design and build of BI, data-visualization, and related dashboards for a varied set of client projects, considering business goals as well as functional and non-functional requirements, using industry leading tools such as Tableau and Power BI.

2. Understand business requirements and translate to BI/visualization technical requirements and design.

3. Define, design, build, and maintain dashboards. Maintain security, integrity, and testability.

4. Ensure performance of dashboards and visualization solutions (in design as well as by debugging).

5. Develop strategies, solutions, and processes for reusability, modularity, scalability, automation, etc.

6. Lead technical development for end to end BI / visualization activities within projects, including definition of activities, estimates, overseeing developers, etc.

7. Interface with internal and external stakeholders (including clients) to understand needs, translate into design, and guide and defend technical choices.

8. Determine strategy and roadmap for BI / visualization design and development.

9. Keep abreast of evolution and changes in the BI and visualization domains and use these to guide related technology and design choices.

10. Ensure industry-grade practices in the overall work of the team.

11. Oversee and guide the work of junior developers and ensure their development.

Skills:

1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) with 8-10+ years of overall experience and 5+ years as BI / data-visualization technical lead.

2. Significant experience and proficiency in leading technical design and implementation using industry grade BI tools – Tableau and Power BI are must-haves. This includes everything from conceptualization and solutioning to design, build, performance optimization, security, etc.

3. Experience in designing and building data visualizations using web technologies is an advantage.

4. BI related certifications are an advantage.

5. Highly conversant with emerging trends in domains of BI tools

6. Strong knowledge in user experience, UI design, responsive design, etc.

7. Experience in working with clients, stakeholders, and UI/UX teams to understand their needs and translate this into appropriate technical solutions.

8. Experience in cloud development (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred.

9. Conversant with the entire SDLC; from requirements and design to testing and delivery, including Agile.

10. Strong analytical, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

11. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
