Job Description:
Position: Maintenance Manager
Experience: 7+ years
Notice: Immediate to 30 days
Location: Nairobi, Kenya (Onsite)
MAIN PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION
Ensuring availability of the appropriate engineering resources to enable safe and efficient plant operations for design and improvement of plant operations.
KEY DELIVERABLES FOR THIS POSITION
- R: - Deliver & maintain EHS and regulatory standards
- Q: - Achieve Quality targets
- D: - Ensure equipment availability and operational efficiency to achieve on time delivery of products to customers
- C: - Achieve Cost targets in cost of production and repairs & maintenance
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Developing and managing the departmental strategy while monitoring implementation in the scope areas in line with the Engineering strategy, policies, processes and procedures achieve the company’s objectives
- Implement procedures and processes to ensure compliance of the Integrated Management System (Quality, EMS, OHS) and regulatory standards.
- Ensure availability of appropriate engineering resources.
- Developing and managing engineering standards and procedures to effectively utilize equipment and materials to maximize production and maintain product quality
- Developing and managing the Total Preventive Maintenance plan and implementation in the engineering and production areas, while ensuring machine, equipment and process safety for optimum efficiency.
- Lead and manage the installation and commissioning of new machines including monitoring performance and carrying out corrective measures
- Monitoring production cost by proper utilization of resources in the plant and budgetary control.
- Contributing to successful product development by confirming specifications for new mold, dyes and tooling.
- Performing engineering analysis and ensuring lowest machine energy and spares consumption reported to ensure corrective action is taken to achieve overall objectives.
- Selecting correct design concepts and fundamental technology used for improvement of existing processes
- Providing technical input during sourcing and procurement of spares and machinery
- Managing the organization’s communication to the department.
- Reporting department performance accurately and on time
- Responsible talent management in the department including coaching, mentoring, developing, motivating, training and evaluating staff to achieve highest levels of performance
- Benchmarking and implementing best practices in manufacturing & respective areas of work
- Implementing product quality, customer & Service Excellence and Change initiatives to achieve desired business plans and culture
- Responsible for preparation, execution and aftercare of improvement projects
- Responsible for operational excellence strategy for the organization (TPM & Continuous improvements implementation)

Academic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Higher Diploma in Mechanical engineering.
