Job Description:
An Accounting Assistant supports the finance department by processing invoices, managing accounts payable/receivable, reconciling bank statements, assisting with payroll and tax filings, and maintaining accurate financial records and filing. Key responsibilities include data entry, general ledger postings, assisting with financial reporting, handling petty cash, and providing administrative support, requiring strong attention to detail, organization, and proficiency in accounting software like Excel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Processing invoices, expense reports, payments, and customer invoices.
- Data Entry & Record Keeping: Accurately recording financial transactions in ledgers and maintaining organized digital/physical files.
- Bank Reconciliation: Reconciling bank statements and monitoring accounts.
- Payroll Support: Assisting with bi-weekly payroll, verifying timesheets, and processing deductions.
- Financial Reporting: Compiling data for financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Tax Compliance: Helping with tax-related tasks and staying updated on regulations.
- Administrative Support: Managing office supplies, handling correspondence, and supporting the wider finance team.
Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Education:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (often preferred).

Experience:Experience in a similar finance or accounting role.

Technical Skills:Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP).
