Job Description:
An Auto Electrician diagnoses, installs, repairs, and maintains complex electrical systems in vehicles, working on everything from wiring, batteries, and alternators to advanced components like ECUs, lighting, alarms, and navigation, using diagnostic tools and hand tools to ensure safety and performance, often interacting with customers to explain issues and estimates. 
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose Issues: Use digital diagnostic tools, test equipment, and technical diagrams to pinpoint faults in electrical systems.
  • Repair & Replace: Fix or replace damaged wiring, components (batteries, alternators, starters, fuses), and entire systems like A/C or audio.
  • Install Systems: Fit new electrical components, including lightingalarm systemsGPS, and audio systems.
  • Customer Interaction: Discuss vehicle problems, explain repair options, provide cost/time estimates, and process payments.
  • Maintenance: Perform routine checks and servicing of electrical parts.
  • Documentation: Complete job reports, update vehicle records, and maintain a clean workspace. 
 
Core Skills & Knowledge:
  • Strong understanding of vehicle electrical & electronic systems.
  • Proficiency with diagnostic software and testing equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints & wiring schematics.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
  • Communication skills.
