Job Description:
The role holder is responsible for overseeing the shift operations of the refinery to achieve production targets while maintaining the requisite quality, regulatory and safety standards.
A Shift Incharge/Assistant Manager in food processing supervises daily operations during their shift, focusing on production targets, quality control, food safety, and equipment maintenance. Key responsibilities include managing and training staff, monitoring production data and waste, ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards, and preparing accurate shift reports for management. The role requires strong leadership, problem-solving skills, and knowledge of food processing and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Production Management:Oversee and manage all production activities to ensure targets are met and workflows are smooth.
- Quality Control:Enforce strict food quality and safety standards and procedures across all stations.
- Staff Supervision & Training:Lead, train, and motivate the shift workforce, providing feedback and ensuring adherence to company policies.
- Inventory & aste Control:Monitor inventory levels, manage stock consumption, and implement strategies to control wastage.
- Problem-Solving:Address and resolve operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and other problems as they arise.
- Reporting:Prepare and submit detailed and accurate daily/shift reports, including production, safety, and inventory data, to management.
- Equipment Maintenance:Ensure production equipment is properly maintained and functional.
- Safety Compliance:Ensure all employees follow established safety guidelines and regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education:High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate's or Bachelor's degree is often preferred.
- Experience:Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a food production or manufacturing environment is essential.
- Leadership & Communication:Strong leadership, team management, and excellent communication skills are required to guide and motivate staff.
- Technical Knowledge:Knowledge of food processing operations, quality control procedures, safety regulations, and inventory management.
- Problem-Solving:Ability to analyze data, identify areas for improvement, and develop effective strategies to address issues.
- Adaptability:Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
