Job Description:
A CEO for a steel manufacturing plant leads overall strategy, operations, finance, and growth, focusing on profitability, market competitiveness, and compliance, by managing production, sales, technological upgrades (like TPM), and building high-performing teams while overseeing P&L, risk, and stakeholder relations. Key duties include driving plant performance, managing budgets, fostering innovation, ensuring safety/environmental adherence, and overseeing sales/marketing for long-term success in the competitive industrial sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Define vision, set goals, drive overall growth, and maintain competitive edge in the industrial sector.
- Operational Management: Oversee all plant functions (production, maintenance, quality), balance production needs, and drive expansion/capacity utilization.
- Financial Oversight: Manage P&L, fiscal planning, budgeting, cost control, and resource optimization.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and accountability.
- Market & Sales: Develop strategies, build client relationships, negotiate high-value contracts, and analyze market trends.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify risks, ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations, and manage compliance.
- Technical & Project Management: Oversee technology adoption, contract negotiations for equipment, and project implementation (civil, mechanical, electrical).
Qualifications & Profile
- Experience: Progressive experience in heavy manufacturing, steel, or related industrial sectors.
- Skills: Strong techno-commercial background, leadership, strategic planning, financial acumen, and negotiation skills.
- Education: Often requires a B.Tech/B.E. or relevant diploma, with a strong technical and commercial profile.
