An Electrician for Ferro Alloys (Ferro) specializes in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in high-temperature, heavy-industry environments, focusing on power distribution, control panels, motors, and machinery using technical blueprints, troubleshooting faults, and ensuring strict safety compliance for 3-phase, high-voltage equipment. Key duties include preventive maintenance, quick fault resolution, calibration, working with complex wiring (like 480v 3ph), and sometimes operating utility machines, requiring skills in electrical codes, testing devices, and teamwork with engineers.Key Responsibilities
- Installation & Wiring: Setting up and connecting lighting, power circuits, control systems, cables, and conduit for industrial machinery.
- Maintenance & Repair: Performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing, and fixing electrical faults in motors, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers.
- Troubleshooting: Using testing devices to identify and resolve issues in complex electrical systems.
- System Operation: Running shift operations for utility machines and power distribution systems.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Reading and applying technical diagrams, blueprints, and specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to electrical codes, safety regulations, and using protective equipment (PPE).
- Documentation: Maintaining records of maintenance, repairs, and equipment performance.
Typical Requirements & Skills- Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Certification: Valid Government Electrical License (Mandatory).
- Experience: Proven experience in industrial settings or construction, often with heavy machinery/power plants.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge of high/low voltage systems (e.g., 480v 3ph), testing equipment, control systems, and motors.
- Soft Skills: Problem-solving, teamwork, methodical approach, strong communication, and stamina.
