SAFETY OFFICER/ASST. SAFETY FOR FABRICATION PLANT - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH
Job Description:
A Safety Officer/Assistant develops, implements, and enforces health & safety policies, conducting risk assessments, inspections, and training to ensure workplace compliance with regulations, while investigating incidents and promoting a strong safety culture, with the Assistant providing key support in these areas. They manage documentation, liaise with authorities, and ensure proper PPE use, acting as crucial links between management and employees for hazard prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy & Procedure Management: Develop, implement, and maintain Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and programs.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend preventive measures.
- Training & Awareness: Organize and deliver safety training, workshops, and awareness campaigns for all staff.
- Incident Management: Investigate accidents, near misses, and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to local, national, and international safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ISO).
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of inspections, training, incidents, and compliance reports.
- Emergency Preparedness: Assist in developing and executing emergency response plans and drills.
- PPE Management: Oversee the proper use, maintenance, and supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Key Differences (Officer vs. Assistant)
- Safety Officer: Often leads these initiatives, operates with more autonomy, and is responsible for overall program effectiveness.
- Assistant Safety Officer: Primarily supports the Safety Officer, assisting in implementation, data collection, routine checks, and training coordination.
