Job Description:

We are having an urgent opening for the position of Accounting Manager for a reputed Company at the Mumbai (Andheri East) location.

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: 

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Accounting Manager’s primary responsibilities are to manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, monitor general accounting practices, lead budgeting exercise, develop internal accounting controls and supervise the accounting team to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, evaluate current accounting policies and procedures and work with the regional finance team to determine if they are still appropriate. Suggest and implement changes as appropriate to improve accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly and annual close process by adhering to the close calendar and Company policies and procedures, while working cross-functionally with other colleagues to deliver on-time and accurate monthly financials
  • Expertise in Gst working (Preparation of GSTR 1, GSRTR3B, Reconciliation with GSTR2A)
  • Able to handle the Financial Year end Audit and prepare the data as per audit requirement.
  • Tds working and return filing data preparation.
  • 26AS reconciliations.
  • Sundry Debtors Ledger Reconciliation. 
  • Preparation of GSTR 9
  • Supervise, direct, and review the work of the accounting staff including cashreconciliations, accounts receivable transactions, payroll, accounts payable transactions, debt activity, recording of revenue and expenses
  • Review general ledger to ensure that all material activity has been captured and recorded accurately and on time
  • Provide analysis of cash flow, operating costs and variances. Maintain organized set of detailed records and files to document financial transactions
  • Provide accurate and timely financial information and develop monthly and quarterly reports to facilitate the decision making process
  • Support the station’s annual budget process, and assist to analyze the variances from plan when needed. Resolves complex accounting issues or assists other personnel in resolving financial issues
  • Work with the Regional Finance Manager and act as the point of contact with audit firm to ensure a clean and timely year end audit
  • Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS :

  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Supervisor or Finance Manager
  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations
  • Experience as a certified public accountant, experience working in freight forwarding industry an advantage
  • Knowledge, skills, education, experience, and abilities essential to perform this job

Travel Required:

  • Occasional business travel within or outside of the country
