Data Engineer (SQL and DAX)

Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer with expertise in SQL and DAX to join our team. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the data infrastructure that supports our organization's data needs. Your role will involve working closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data requirements and translating them into efficient and scalable data solutions.


Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from various sources into our data warehouse.
Design, optimize, and manage database structures, including tables, views, and stored procedures, using SQL and other relevant technologies.
Implement and optimize data models to support business intelligence and reporting requirements.
Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand their data requirements and provide the necessary infrastructure and support.
Ensure data quality and integrity by implementing appropriate data validation and cleansing techniques.
Monitor and optimize the performance of data pipelines and database systems to ensure optimal query performance and data availability.
Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in data engineering and recommend improvements to existing processes and tools.
Document data engineering processes, standards, and best practices for knowledge sharing and future reference.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on SQL and DAX.
Expertise in designing and implementing data models, data warehouses, and ETL processes.
Proficiency in SQL and experience with database systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
Strong understanding of DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) for building and optimizing data models in Power BI or similar tools.
Experience with cloud-based data platforms such as AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, or Microsoft Azure is a plus.
Familiarity with data integration and workflow management tools like Apache Airflow, Apache NiFi, or similar.
Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is beneficial.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
