Job Description:

Work closely with mass retailers, merchandisers, sourcing partners to manage, track & execute all product development (PD) phases.

  • Research and keep abreast with current trends & sales-driving factors beauty tools & make-up accessories.
  • Maintain & request a log of samples (physical & data) to fall back for product reference
  • Responsible for developing value-for-money product and to work with the graphics designers by relaying information on elevated packaging ideas/box art, Pantone colours, design elements, etc.
    • This is a core USP and will involve seeking a lot of real-time inspiration from current & upcoming trends in the marketplace (physical & e-commerce) as well consciously follow social media.
  • Work on optimal product costing and profit margins based on historical sales velocity in order achieve a target price with best marginal return.
  • Take the lead on creating product names, text and copy needs for new product, if needed.
  • Monitor and maintain on-time delivery of samples, milestones, and be responsible to update and track PD timelines.
  • Create and work on an annual PD / sampling calendar to make timely offerings to clients.
  • Ability to create multiple offerings of the same product to offer different clients yetmaintain exclusivity for each of them.
  • To source and create an ecological & sustainable brand in the long run.
  • Must be flexible to work (across different time zones) with people from back-end sourcing teams, merchandisers and factories from Hong Kong & China.
  • Strong end-user focus and must have the ability to effectively & quickly demonstrate learnings and briefs from clients to build relationships and establish trust, respect,and communication in the B2B sphere that would translate to more growth.
  • Physically travel to sales pitches & client meetings, if needed.
  • Present & develop new line assortments & create a schedule accordingly.
  • Attend trade shows and networking events 2-3x a year.

Qualifications

  • Have 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Be self-driven to learn & explore possibilities and make product offerings
  • Be comfortable to host & participate in product pitches and presentation meetings (in-person & online)
  • Be proficient (and fast) in Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint
  • Bea faster learner, a people-person, a great multi-tasker, and a great executor
  • Be detailed-oriented and work with a system to keep a tab on all info
  • Be comfortable being driven by deadlines with a high sense of urgency
  • Exemplary written and oral communication skills
