Job Description:
senior Engineer – HVDC
- In depth knowledge of conducting simulations and analytical studies for transmission and Distribution, Planning, load and generation interconnection.
- Perform Power system studies involving Network modelling, simulation, analysis and Validation of HVDCs using PSCAD Software.
- Knowledge of OEM models of HVDCs and Library models in PSCAD Software
- Perform Transient and steady state analysis of HVDC system
- Prepare HVDC Performance Specifications, Converter Station and Equipment specifications.
- Analyse study results and recommend solutions as per requirements and present the results to clients.
- Prepare study reports and other technical documentation
- Respond to request for proposals (RFP) by preparing proposals & estimation of man-hours
- Mentor junior staffs and provide training on subject of expertise.
- Deliver training courses on subject of expertise.
Responsibilities:
Strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with 10+ years of relevant industrial experience
- Knowledge of Grid Codes and Power Electronic Converters.,
- Expertise in system study softwares such as PSCAD, EMTP etc.,
Desirable Requirements:
- Knowledge of PSSE, DIgSILENT, MATLAB / Simulink and any other system study software.
- Competency in Python coding
