SR. MANAGER/AGM QUALITY FOR STEEL MANUFACTURING - RAIPUR , CHHATTISGARH

Job Description:

• A Sr. Manager/AGM Quality in Steel Manufacturing leads quality assurance, process control, and R&D for product/process innovation, ensuring compliance with ISO standards (9001, etc.), managing metallurgical aspects, driving cost reduction, and overseeing teams for defect-free production, from melting (EAF/LF) through casting, rolling, and finishing, using tools like TQM and SAP for performance monitoring. 

  Key Responsibilities:

  • Quality Management: Implement and maintain QMS (ISO 9001), drive TQM, 5S, and ensure product quality across all stages (melting, casting, rolling).
  • Process Control & Innovation: Develop new steel grades, optimize process parameters (EAF, LF, casting), troubleshoot issues, and scale innovations.
  • R&D & Technical Leadership: Lead R&D trials, product testing, root cause analysis, and interface with customers on technical matters.
  • Operations Oversight: Supervise quality aspects of Steel Melting Shop (SMS), casting, and finishing, aiming for efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Team Leadership: Manage quality and technical teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Ensure adherence to regulatory standards, manage certifications, and prepare performance reports. 

  Key Skills & Experience:

  • Technical Expertise: Alloys steel, EAF/LF/VAD processes, casting parameters, rolling schedules, metallurgy.
  • Quality Tools: ISO 9000/10006/2008, TQM, 5S, EMS 14001.
  • Software: SAP/ERP/Oracle for performance monitoring.
  • Soft Skills: Strategic planning, cost reduction, vendor management, leadership, problem-solving. 

  Typical Requirements:

  • Experience in Alloy Steel Plants, EAF/LF, Casting, Rolling.
  • Leadership roles in Quality/R&D/Production.
