Assistant Manager - QA/QC
Job Description:
JOB SUMMARY
Assistant Manager – QC is responsible to ensure the manufacturing production lines run smoothly and generate a consistently suitable output of products that meet quality and efficiency standards. Oversee testing and inspection processes and product development procedures to ensure that products meet quality and efficiency standards.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY
- Develop and implement quality control tests to ensure the company's result is what it should be, inspecting at various stages in production and to take action where needed.
- Develop, implement and enforce department policies and protocol, and verify that staff are upholding mandatory quality standards.
- Plan and produce training manuals, programs, or presentations.
- Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
- Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
- Solicit feedback from customers to assess whether their requirements are met.
- Be on the lookout for opportunities for improvement and develop new efficient procedures.
- Devising, improving, and reviewing new specifications and procedures for products or processes, and training staff to use them.
- Inspecting the final output, comparing it to the requirements, and approving or rejecting the final products.
- Collect and analyse metrics related to QC deviations.
- Recommend and take corrective action in compliance with quality audits, issues, etc.
- Monitor quality key measures and trends for adherence to targets.
- Generate certificates of analysis to support internal manufacturing products.
- Identify, recommend and implement process improvements to enhance testing strategies.
- Maintain all laboratory certifications and monitor technicians for accuracy and precision.
- Oversee and participate in the internal audit program of quality systems.
JOB SPECIFICATION:
- Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in science or business-based programs.
- At least 8 years solid experience in the same or similar capacity gained in quality control.
- Coach and mentor process improvement staff and conduct process improvement training
- In-depth knowledge of quality control procedures and legal standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Demonstrated leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail, observation, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Certification of quality control is a strong advantage (ISO 9000 etc.)
- Computer skills on ERP, MS-Office and web-based meeting tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal & written communication skills.
