Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

Production engineer is responsible for controlling and improving production at factory.

The prime responsibility of Production Engineer is developing strategies to improve efficiency and increase profitability. 

 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Ensures the functionality of production equipment and machinery to improve productivity and minimise the production cost.
  • Work with a team of product designers to ensure the manufacturing process results in optimal finished products.
  • supervising staff, training workers in the responsible use of machinery, identifying problems in the production line, troubleshooting equipment.
  • Supervising the manufacturing processes, ensuring quality work is done in a safe, efficient manner.
  • Liaising with other team members such as Warehouse, Dispatch, Purchase, PPIC, Order management, Engineering, Technical/tooling, Quality, HR etc for respective task and transaction and also to develop plans that improve production, costs, and labour required.
  • Diagnosing problems in the production line and providing recommendations and training.
  • Establishing safety procedures and protocols that take the workers' well-being into account.
  • Schedule monthly, weekly and daily production as well as machine plans efficient way to maximise the production and cycle time within the best quality parameters
  • Scheduling meetings with relevant departments and stakeholders.
  • See that products are constructed properly, produced quickly enough to meet demand and made with minimal waste.
  • Responsibility to establish and maintain control of process metrics and data such as cycle time, productivity, downtime, product properties, to ensure existing processes are in control.
  • Lead product deviation processes, securing root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective/preventive actions.
  • Insure accurate records and production statistics. Utilize data such as downtime, scrap, efficiencies, to plan and strategize countermeasures for equipment and process problems.
  • Partner with the experts to perform advanced troubleshooting and improve operating discipline.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree. Preferable MBA in operations Management
  • At least 5 years solid experience in the same or similar capacity gained in manufacturing.
  • Good knowledge on manufacturing process & requirements, Production planning and quality control principles.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Diagnose problems, train staff, and provide effective recommendations.
  • Ability to use simple statistical tools such as fish bone, histogram, Pareto charts, for data analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including verbal & written communication skills
  • Computer skills on ERP.MS-Office and web-based meeting tools.
  • Outstanding leadership, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
