Job Description (Manager – Purchase)

Job Purpose: -Manage procurement operations for assigned categories/raw materials/spares at plant/division level, execute sourcing, vendor coordination, order placement, delivery tracking and cost control while ensuring compliance, quality and uninterrupted supply to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement for raw materials, consumables and spares (PR to PO to payment).
• Float enquiries/RFQs, evaluate quotations, negotiate prices/terms and place orders.
• Manage vendor follow-up, delivery scheduling and material receipt coordination.
• Drive cost reduction through negotiation, alternate sourcing and bulk buying.
• Ensure compliance with procurement policy, integrity pact and statutory norms.
• Maintain vendor performance scorecard and resolve quality/delivery issues.
• Prepare daily/weekly purchase status reports, pending PO tracker and spend analysis.
• Coordinate with stores/production/finance for demand planning and payment release.
• Support e-auction, vendor onboarding and contract documentation.

Qualification & Experience

• Diploma/B.E./B.Tech or MBA (Supply Chain/Operations).
• 6–10 years in purchase/procurement in manufacturing/mining group.
