Senior Engineer-VM Ware
Job Description:
Essential functions and responsibilities (but not limited to):
- You will be responsible for upgrading, monitoring, and troubleshooting vCenter and ESXi servers, and have knowledge about hardware and how they function with operating systems.
- You are responsible Managing the storage components including Storage Area Networks SAN, Network Attached Storage NAS etc.
- Must have configured and managed VMware clusters with HA and DRS.
- Strong experience in security hardening and Monitoring of VMs ESX servers CPU, Memory, Disk, Network Utilization for Security Compliance.
- Managing regular upgrade and patching activities for VM Ware environment.
- Any experience of working with HyperV environments or UCS /Vxblocks or VxRail environment.
- Good Knowledge & understanding in backup and recovery of Virtual machines and virtual servers.
- Monitoring performance and ensured system availability and reliability.
- Monitoring system resource utilization, trending, and capacity planning.
- Managing and configuring Network devices via SNMP via RMM tools e.g., N-Central N-able, ConnectWise, PRTG etc.
- Providing Level 2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
- Working within established configuration and change management policies to ensure awareness, approval and success of changes made to the network infrastructure.
- Will be responsible for updating, sharing daily, weekly & monthly ticketstracker&analysis.
- Defining key management routines and governance strategy to ensure effectivebusinessprocess execution.
- Initiateimprovementsintools,requirementsgathering,processes,andpeople.
Required:
- Should have experience on VMware vSphere, vSAN, Reputed OEM Servers, Storage, Backup Solution, Converged Infrastructure, Microsoft Hyper-V, Virtual and Physical Server Migrations.
- In-depth understanding of Virtualization, Software defined Data Centre technologies for Compute, Storage, Networks, appliances etc.
- Domain level understanding of Public/Private Cloud Infrastructure & Networking.
- At least 5 + years of experience in customer-facing positions as a professional services Solution engineer or similar.
- Strong practical Linux or Windows systems administration skills.
- Strong domain knowledge in managing components of Public & Private cloud infrastructure, (AWS, Linux System Administration, Azure, VMware cloud & OpenStack Cloud Infrastructure).
- Demonstrated ability to administer and manage end-user environments including areas of monitoring, patching and updates.
- Understanding of processes and methodologies that integrate public cloud setup with enterprise infrastructure.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, related field or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of Hypervisors (ESXi,NSX, Hyper-V, Xenserver, KVM, etc).
Educational Qualifications:
- E, B.Tech
- VMware Certified Professional would be preferred –VCTA, VCP, VCAP.
- Must have sound knowledge on Managing the complete VMware environment.
- Certifications like MCSE, MCSA, and/or various UNIX certifications are a plus.
- Exposure with other Cloud Services e.g., Azure/AWS/Google would be an added advantage.
Work Experience:
2-4 Years of work experience on VM Ware technologies
Other Prerequisites:
- Ability to work is rotational shift & depending on business needs.
- Prior work experience in MNC & matrix organization.
