Job Description:
  • Monitors, escalates, and re-mediate NAS & SAN device/application {access, performance, events} alerts to identify/ potential incidents.
  • Provide storage provisioning for NAS/CAS/SAN systems.
  • Providing Level 2/3 DAS, SAN, NAS Configuring and administering support and expertise as it relates to the storage environment as needed.
  • Implement, maintain, monitor, performance tuning and upgrade Network Attached Storage (NAS) environment.
  • Storage Array/NAS Performance Tuning.
  • Requires expertise with the design, configuration, and administration, tuning, optimizing, and troubleshooting for NFS/CIFS protocol on NetApp and EMC Isilon storage arrays.
  • Analyze backup software performance and monitoring of scheduled backups to ensure success or take remedial action for failures.
  • Configure backup policy for new backup clients.
  • Manage storage and backup policy changes through the change request process & provide status reports to the relevant parties.
  • Respond promptly to incidents, investigate & provide temporary &/or permanent resolution of incidents escalated. Provide timely status updates to relevant parties.
  • Manage and support Storage systems, including vulnerability remediation, capacity management, configuration management, provisioning, and zoning of new servers using SAN switches.
  • Ensure service levels meet requirements. Propose and implement action plan when required.
  • Expected to work during off-peak hours on system activities (e.g., patching, upgrade, plant shutdown).
  • Identify, research, and resolve technical problems.
  • Be able to effectively operate within set guidelines, policies, procedures, and able to execute instructions with minimal supervision.
  • Initiate improvements in tools, requirements gathering, processes, and people.
  • Providing Level 2/Level 3 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
  • Providing Support to Level 1 and Level 2 Engineers.
  • Handling Customer escalations and taking ownerships of Complains.
  • Providing RCA and Cases analysis whenever required.
  • Managing Trainings for existing and new team members.

Preparing Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly reports and share with the Upper management and Clients

Required:

 

  • Must have sound knowledge on Managing the Storage for VM Ware, Citrix, AWS, Azure and other Cloud technologies.
  • Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA), EMC Proven Professional Certification (EMC), and NetApp Certified Data Administrator, ONTAP.
  • Certifications like MCSE, MCSA, and/or various UNIX certifications are a plus.
  • Exposure with other Cloud Services e.g., Azure/AWS/Google would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with data migrations from one environment to a new one and experience with building migration plans with the customer. Must also have experience with the documentation of these migrations.
  • Proficient on any Scripting Language e.g. Python, PowerShell.
  • Expertise in Storage management (NAS, CIFS, NFS & S3).
  • Require exposure to vendor technologies like, IBM/Hitachi/HP/Dell Storage etc.
  • Working knowledge of Enterprise clustering technologies.
  • Knowledge on monitoring tools e.g. N-Central N-able, PRTG, Opsramp and ServiceNow.
  • Hands on experience in configuring and managing the RAID Groups, Storage pools and Storage tiering.
  • In-depth understanding on SAN fabric, Virtual Fabric (VSAN), FCIP Configuration management and Host to SAN connectivity.
  • Knowledge on configuring SAN Switches, adding new switch to an existing fabric (ISL ICL), merging switch fabrics, Trunking, Switch Migrations Code upgrades.
  • Experience in working with multiple vendors to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Ability to perform Root Cause Analysis on storage issues.
  • Able to assist Team Members, Mentor New Joiners in the team and Perform as an Individual Contributor.
  • Ability to understand Business requirements translate them into technology solutions, Implement Best Practices.
  • Ownership of Infrastructure and responsible for service uptime / availability.
  • Prepare / Maintain SOPs and Operational Run books, follow ITIL processes - Incident management, Problem management, Change management, Performance management, Capacity management, Configuration availability management activities.
  • Participate in Change release management.
  • Plan Implement routine, normal complex changes.
  • Participate in CAB and TAB.
  • Deep familiarity with NAS and Object Storage Architecture and enterprise class storage arrays, server infrastructure, and backup solutions.
  • Design, deliver and maintain storage solutions for VMWare/VDI deployment worldwide as well as a flexible scale-out storage solution for high performance grid based (HPC) server farm.
  • Knowledge of overall backup and storage design and related issues.
  • Strong knowledge on backup software technologies.
  • Knowledge of overall backup and storage design and related issues.
  • Maintains and monitors backup servers.
  • Performs daily routine maintenance, review Backup status.
  • Ensures regular reporting to management regarding performance and service levels of Backup systems, to inform responsible management about major deviations and/or corrective actions.
