Job Description:

Responsibilities:

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment including pumps, compressors, conveyors, and other machinery used in the sponge iron production process.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify and resolve any mechanical issues before they escalate, ensuring minimal downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and implement corrective actions to ensure continuous operation.
• Collaborate with other maintenance and operations team members to prioritize tasks and schedule repairs to optimize plant efficiency.
• Follow safety protocols and procedures at all times to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
• Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory of spare parts.
• Assist in the development and implementation of preventive maintenance plans to enhance equipment reliability and longevity.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Fitter or similar role in an industrial setting, preferably in a sponge iron power plant or similar heavy industry.
• Proficiency in reading technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required.
