Job Description:
Responsibilities:

Chemical Analysis:
- Conduct chemical analysis of raw materials, alloys, and molten metals used in casting processes.
- Perform qualitative and quantitative analysis using techniques such as spectroscopy, chromatography, and wet chemistry methods.
- Analyze metal compositions to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards.

Quality Control:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the consistency and integrity of cast metal products.
- Conduct inspections and tests throughout the casting process to identify defects, impurities, and deviations from specifications.
- Develop and maintain quality control documentation, including inspection reports, test results, and corrective action records.

Process Optimization:
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize casting processes and improve efficiency.
- Analyze process variables and parameters to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction.
- Recommend adjustments to casting parameters based on chemical analysis and quality data.

Troubleshooting:
- Investigate and troubleshoot process issues, such as casting defects, metal contamination, and quality deviations.
- Identify root causes of problems and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Work closely with production and maintenance teams to resolve issues in a timely manner.

Research and Development:
- Participate in research and development projects focused on advancing casting techniques, materials, and technologies.
- Conduct experiments, analyze data, and evaluate new processes or additives to improve casting performance.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in metal casting and metallurgy.

Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Comply with regulatory requirements and industry standards related to chemical handling, waste management, and environmental protection.
- Participate in safety training programs and initiatives to promote a culture of safety awareness.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Metallurgy, Materials Science, or a related field. Master's degree or Ph.D. may be preferred for advanced roles.
- Previous experience in a similar role within a casting or metallurgical industry.
- Strong knowledge of metallurgical principles, metal casting processes, and chemical analysis techniques.
- Proficiency in laboratory equipment and instruments used for chemical analysis (e.g., spectrometers, chromatographs, titrators).
- Familiarity with quality control standards, statistical analysis methods, and Six Sigma principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
