Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The Asst. Manager for New Product Development develops, maintains and updates the new product development process.

Responsible for formulating the short and long-term NPD strategy including a pipeline of ideas.

Managing overall development related operations and ensuring timely accomplishment of efficiency and productivity targets.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITY:

  • To ensure the Product Development process is followed and that each stage is completed, documented and communicated accurately through to key stake holders.
  • To ensure all sample requests are logged onto the NPD sample planner and allocated resource accordingly.
  • Ensure all samples leaving are approved visually and technically in a timely manner.
  • Organize and attend factory trials/pre-production runs in conjunction with development teams.
  • Carry out post launch reviews in conjunction with relevant site functions.
  • Gathers the raw materials necessary to build or create the product being developed.
  • Plays a key role in developing contract manufacturers and vendors with moulds and dies for components involved in new product development.
  • Prepares reports on the various procedures that have been tried in order to eliminate methods that are unsuccessful.
  • Co-ordinating with planning dept., manufacturing dept. along with Quality dept. to achieve the targeted new product development.
  • Final Inspection and testing of finished products & sample submission to customers as per schedule.
  • Assures that the design and testing for all our products are fully compliant with applicable regulations.

 

JOB SPECIFICATION:

  • Candidate must possess bachelor’s degree in science or engineering.
  • At least 5 years solid experience in the same or similar capacity gained in NPD.
  • Possess technical skills for product development, improvement and costing analysis to support product development.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Excellent project management skills and ability to effectively manage ever changing workloads.
  • Be creative and innovative about approaches to new products.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work to timescales, deadlines and an ability to priorities tasks.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills with openness to changes.
