Job Description:

The role

As an Application Packaging Analyst, this role requires the individual to serve as a Subject Matter Expert for the packaging, testing, and deployment of software applications using a suite of tools to manage the process.  

You will adopt an automation-first, problem management-focused mindset for application packaging across the hardware estate. 

In this role, you'll actively contribute to the culture of continual improvement, consistently seeking opportunities to enhance processes and procedures for overall efficiency and effectiveness. 

Key responsibilities

  • Packaging of software requirements for end user’s devices as new requirements are requested across the Group businesses using the appropriate technologies and tools to manage the packaging, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Supporting in the packaging process of application as new businesses are integrated into the group, supporting the technical project delivery teams in their processes.
  • Maintaining the automated package deployment processes.
  • Responsible for the upgrading of packages to the any major version releases.
  • Working closely with the SecOps teams to reduce the number of vulnerabilities through package management of software versions.
  • To work collaboratively across the relevant IT teams in elements of testing of application package releases prior to deployment.
  • Facilitate a seamless transition of any changes relating to their service(s). This involves ensuring minimal disruption to the user experience while also effectively embedding the knowledge and expertise within the teams into the operational processes.
  • Management of the deployment circles for users in the release of software updates.

Key skills and experience required.

Essential: 

  • Proven experience and understanding of all windows operating systems and Active Directory Management  
  • 2 -3 years of experience in managing Microsoft environments and patching.
  • Good working knowledge and experience of Office 365/Administration 
  • Experience administering the Office365 suite (Office, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive) 
  • Understanding of PC hardware diagnosis, set-up, and configuration 
  • Strong Intune experience and knowledge
  • SCCM experience and knowledge
  • Experience of using Patch my PC
  • A good understanding and experience of the Microsoft Patching processes.
  • Mobile Device Management
