As a Cashier in the Luxury Retail sector, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless financial transactions and excellent customer service experiences. Your responsibilities will encompass various tasks related to cash handling, invoice preparation, sales accounting, data entry, cash management, and reconciliation. Below is a detailed overview of the duties and requirements for this role:

  1. Cash Handling:

    • Receive cash, credit card, and other forms of payment from customers.
    • Process transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale (POS) systems.
    • Maintain a secure cash drawer and adhere to cash handling procedures.
  2. Invoice Preparation:

    • Generate invoices for purchases made by customers.
    • Ensure accuracy in pricing, discounts, and applicable taxes.
    • Provide customers with copies of invoices upon request.
  3. Sales Accounting:

    • Record sales transactions in the accounting system or designated software.
    • Verify and reconcile sales data with inventory records.
    • Collaborate with the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  4. Data Entry:

    • Enter sales, returns, and exchange information into the database or computer system.
    • Maintain updated customer and product databases.
    • Accurately input financial data for reporting and analysis purposes.
  5. Cash Management:

    • Monitor cash levels and request replenishment as needed.
    • Prepare daily cash reports and reconcile discrepancies.
    • Safeguard cash and valuables according to company policies.
  6. Reconciliation:

    • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliations of cash, sales, and inventory.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between records and physical counts.
    • Prepare reports summarizing reconciliation findings for management review.
