Main responsibilities
- Operation and scheduling: Plan and schedule daily operations to meet client delivery times, and organize facilities and workers efficiently.
- Team supervision: Oversee and monitor the work of galvanizers and other staff, provide training, and ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices.
- Quality control: Ensure the final product meets quality standards through regular inspections, monitor the galvanizing process, and manage quality control documentation.
- Safety and compliance: Oversee all safety matters on the site and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Maintenance and improvement: Conduct regular inspections of equipment, oversee maintenance, and troubleshoot technical difficulties. Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Material management: Oversee the selection, requisition, and proper maintenance of all operational materials and chemicals.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production, quality metrics, and employee performance, and prepare reports for management.
Key skills and qualifications
- Supervisory and leadership experience in a manufacturing setting, ideally in steel fabrication or galvanizing.
- Strong knowledge of the hot-dip galvanizing process and related safety and quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills to address technical issues as they arise.
- Ability to manage a team and foster a safe and efficient work environment.
- Organizational skills for scheduling, record-keeping, and material management.
